Help With Medical Travel For Children Angel Flight
Angel Flight America--a national network of seven autonomous regional members --arranges free flights of hope and healing by transporting patients and their families in private planes to hospitals for medical treatment. We also provide free flights in the event of a national crisis or whenever there is a compelling human need. We are a non-profit grassroots volunteer corps of over 5,000 private pilots from all 50 states who proudly support and fly under the banner of Angel Flight. In the year 2003 alone, the seven regional members of Angel Flight America provided over 17,000 flights for children and adults. With support from thousands of compassionate and caring people-our pilots, ground volunteers (Earth Angels), mission coordinators, donors and the media-- Angel Flight America has become the largest charitable air carrier in America. Today, an Angel Flight is taking off almost every 30 minutes....But there is so much more for us to do in order to respond to our passengers who many times come to us at the most desperate times of their lives... Angel Flight exists to arrange free long distance access, ultimately removing the financial burden of transportation as an obstacle in receiving specialized medical evaluation, diagnosis or treatment for any mobile child or adult. Children's Flight of Hope
Many people often assume that the greatest hurdle a sick child faces is finding the treatment required to help treat his or her condition. For many children, however, specialized medical care is readily available but getting to a treatment facility located many miles from home is the greatest obstacle to overcome. Children's Flight of Hope was founded to meet the transportation needs of these children. Our mission is to provide free private air transportation to and from medical facilities for critically ill or injured children (with their families or guardians) who, due to medical, financial, or logistical reasons, are unable to travel to their destinations by any other mode. Highly qualified volunteer pilots operate our organization's aircraft to transport children and their families to and from medical facilities throughout the eastern United States. We seek not only to ease the financial burden of air travel but also to provide comfort and hope to the families we serve by providing quality service and the utmost attentiveness to their needs.
